Viewing/Ordering Online Action Photos
How do we view/select the photos we like?
It’s a SNAP! Games will be listed on our website. Simply click on the link for that game and you’re on your way. You will see 400-500 or more photos per game. You can click on any photo to magnify the image. If you would like to order that photo, you simply add it to your shopping cart and continue to browse the photos. At any point you may add or remove photos from the shopping cart. You can choose from a large variety of print sizes and specialty products.
How do we actually purchase the photos we select?
When you are finished adding photos to your Shopping Cart you procede to a painless electronic Checkout. Our online store front (fully secure and encrypted via VeriSign) accepts all major credit cards. The store front immediately runs your card for approval. You will receive a confirmation email within a couple of minutes summarizing your completed order. This is essentially your receipt. You may also pay by check, but you will delay your order until the check clears. Credit card orders are electronically sent to our digital lab within minutes for printing!
How are these photos printed? They aren’t inkjet prints are they?
Although current advances in inkjet technology have increased their longevity, inkjet prints are fragile and not really suitable as a professional product. SNAP prints are made on Kodak or Fuji Professional Photo Papers via state of the art Kodak 600 dpi digital photo printers. They are then processed in conventional photo chemistry. They are real photographs in every sense of the word. With reasonable care they will last at least 70 years!
I see references to PhotoReflect. What is PhotoReflect?
PhotoReflect is our Internet partner who hosts the game photos on the Net. They also operate the online store. When you order photos, you are paying PhotoReflect, who in turn pays the electronic lab, and then SNAP!. They are without a doubt the premier photo hosting service on the Internet today. The photo section has a number of really great features
While browsing the photos I saw a reference to "My Album." What is "My Album?"
If you see one or a slew of photos you would like to share with someone, you can create an Album. That Album can be emailed or shared with anyone. Think of your Album as an on-line holding tank for your photos. The Album has another very useful function. If your browsing a large event, just stash away the shots you like in your album. Then when deciding what to purchase, you can go to your album without having to go back to the actual event. This will save you a ton of time! If ordering a slide show, just put the shots you want in your Album and email the Album to stratdev@comcast.net. That way we know exactly which shots you want.
What's to keep me from just "right-clicking" and photo and downloading it right to my computer?
Actually two things. The photo you see is only a very small "thumbnail" image. The real, high resolution file you need for printing resides safely tucked away on the SNAP! servers. If you try to right click the enlarged image, you will get a pop-up window reminding you that these photos are protected by the Federal Copyright laws. The only way to get prints from the files is through the PhotoReflect Checkout. You can purchase the high-resolution file and print whatever you want as often as you want. Purchased files are emailed to you usually within a couple hours.
When will I be able to view the shots you took at our event?
Typically we aim for no longer than 72 hours after the event. Before uploading to the site the photos are edited (to remove shots of backs of players, or to eliminate any shots of questionable quality or focus). Then they are corrected for proper density and color. We feel these extra steps are essential to your enjoyment and it also separates SNAP! from other action companies who just throw everything they shot up to the Net. Most of the time we start the process the same day as the event and many are up on site within 24 hours. Occassionally, we may run a tad longer. Feel free to email us anytime for an update on when the job will be online.
What's all this about "personalization" of my photos?
Any photo can contain a few lines of personalized information at no cost. The way do do this is easy. When you're at the checkout, you will be asked whether you'd like to pay by credit card or check. When you select a method, you will see a an area to give us any special instructions. This is where you type in whatever text you want on your photos. Be reasonable...a few lines is most effective.
What is the difference between a Personalized poster and a Custom poster?
The Personalized poster can contain several lines of text and is our default poster product. The Custom poster is a little more involved. Typically, we manipulate the original digital image to make you a one-of-a-kind image reserved 'til now for the professional athlete. We work with you to by sending you proofs to approve throughout the process. You can just send us the text for a Personalized Poster as noted above. But for the Custom Poster, we need to talk about color preferences, concept, and composition. The Custom Poster is "custom" designed for you. You are the biggest part of the process!
Once I place my order, how long will it be until I see my pictures?
7-10 days. They are shipped from the lab directly to the address you indicate when checking out.
I don't want to or simply won't use my credit card online. Can I call you with my order?
Sure. The easiest way is to send us images that you placed in your Album via email (see above). We can then go in and quickly fulfill your order and take your credit card information over the phone.
